Student Seminars

The College Application Seminar is a seminar for Juniors and Seniors to prepare them for the college application process and become successful applicants. There will be a 30 minute parent/student orientation prior each seminar. Students will receive:

  • Applicase, a college application organizer
  • An application plan to meet deadlines and requirements
  • An application strategy to highlight their strengths
  • A list of colleges that suit their academic and social expectations
  • Feedback on their initial draft of the college essay
  • A financial aid and scholarship overview
  • A draft of their extracurricular resume
  • Instruction on how to complete the college application (students will review the Common Application and the University of California Application)

Continual admission support will be provided before and after the seminar via e-mail once a student signs up for a College Application seminar. Juniors who sign up will receive a testing timeline and suggestions for courses and/or academic programs for their Senior year. The seminar will be about six hours and lunch will be served.
